These Terms and Conditions relate to Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s (YAA’s) ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign. These Terms and Conditions:
‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign enables our eligible supporters, for a minimum donation of £100.00 per Name, to include their Name(s) or the Name(s) of their loved ones, either someone that has passed away or living.
The Name will be printed on a Decal which will be affixed to one side of the bottom panel of the Tail Bumper on one Aircraft (Helicopter). The naming is in recognition of the donation which can be submitted by supporters, including YAA staff and volunteers (Supporters) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
The entry of a Name for inclusion on the Aircraft will constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
YAA reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign and/or to amend any of these Terms and Conditions at any time by placing a notice on our ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ webpage.
The timings are approximate and YAA are not liable for any delay.
In the event of any dispute regarding these Terms and Conditions or any other aspect of ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’, the decision of YAA shall be binding and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Entries of Names will be accepted by YAA from 09:00am on 13th January 2025 and will continue until the sooner of either: (a) an initial 400 names are acquired, then in multiples of 400 thereafter or (b) 23:59pm on 30th June 2025.
Entries of Names may be submitted by: (a) completing an online form; (b) over the telephone by calling the YAA Head Office on 01422 237900 during office hours: Monday-Friday 09:00 to 17.00.
All donations collected from Supporters in respect of ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign will go into YAA’s general funds, to help save lives across Yorkshire. Supporters will not be able to request for their donation to go towards anything specific.
To purchase a name, you must be 16 or over and hold a valid bank card for payment. However names purchased can be from any person of any age, as long as they adhere to the rules outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
You can purchase up to 10 names per one submission form, however if more names are required, multiple submission forms can be submitted. Please note however, a minimum donation of £100.00 per name is required. (e.g. if you submit five names on one submission form, you will be required to donate a minimum of £500).
Name entries:
Each Name entry must only contain one person’s name, for example “John Smith” or “Joan Smith”. Multiple names will not be accepted – for example “John and Joan Smith” would be rejected.
Names may contain titles such as Captain, Dr, Lady, Sir and may contain post-nominal letters (honours) such as RN, CBE, MBE, OBE, MD.
Nicknames or informal versions of Names may also be used, such as ‘Freddie or Sam’.
No business or group Names will be allowed.
No special characters including accents, except hyphens.
The Names must not include any discriminatory or offensive language or be used for political promotion or corporate advertising or for any other reason which may cause reputational or other damage to YAA.
All Names submitted must be real, identifiable, non-fictional individuals.
The maximum number of characters per Name, including spaces and punctuation, is 30 characters.
YAA reserves the right to reject any Name, without notice to the Supporter who has submitted that Name, and without reimbursement of their donation, if it believes the Name is fictitious, offensive, contains defamatory content, or if it believes the Name has been submitted for political, campaigning or any other reason which may cause reputational or other damage to YAA.
Supporters are responsible for checking the Name before submitting it to ensure that it is spelt correctly, contains the correct details and is submitted as they wish the Name to appear on a Decal of the Aircraft. Subject to clause 14 and 15, the Name shall be used on the Decal as submitted without correction by YAA. In the event of a Name being submitted incorrectly please contact info@yaa.org.uk as soon as possible. YAA cannot guarantee that a correction will be made to the submitted Name in these circumstances, but will endeavour to do so where possible.
YAA shall not be responsible for any losses suffered by any person relating to a submitted Name not appearing on a Decal or appearing incorrectly on a Decal.
Entries of a Name and/or donations made to ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign are not transferable to any other YAA campaign. Likewise, donations made to other YAA campaigns are not transferable to ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign.
In order to submit a Name for ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign, all Supporters must also provide their own name. Submissions of Names cannot be provided anonymously.
Names will appear on one Decal on one Aircraft in an order arranged solely at the discretion of YAA. Once the panel is printed, Supporters will be able to search a digital version of the Decal for their submitted Name. Please see ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ FAQs for details.
YAA’s decision in respect of the final design, content and position of the Decal on the Aircraft is final. YAA may also use images and/or replications of the Decal at its own and absolute discretion for marketing and social media purposes. Any drawings or illustrations of the Decal are for the purpose of showing what the final design may look like but do not have any contractual force. YAA reserves the right to amend the design as required.
A minimum of approximately 200 Names and a maximum of approximately 400 Names is required to complete one Decal on each Aircraft. Your submitted Name will be placed on one panel on one Aircraft. YAA has the final decision as to which Aircraft each Decal will be placed on. All YAA Aircraft can operate from either Base (Nostell or North).
Submission of a Name which is used in a Decal does not entitle that person to any rights to or title in the Aircraft and/or the Decal.
After submitting a Name, YAA will contact each Supporter, using the contact details provided by them, to acknowledge receipt of their submitted Name and to thank them for their donation to ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ campaign.
Supporters who have provided their email address to us when submitting their name will be provided with a digital link from which they may download and print their own personalised certificate to commemorate adding a name to an Aircraft. Included in the email will be confirmation of the chosen Aircraft. We will aim to send this within eight weeks of receiving your submitted Name.
Updates, photographs and videos will be publicised from time to time. These shall be provided on the YAA website, social media and any other YAA publicity and marketing collateral. Whilst we will not focus on any one particular name, the Supporter understands and accepts that their name may be identifiable.
Due to the number of potential names involved in the ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ projects, Supporters will be unable to visit the Air Support Units and/or Aircrafts to see their name up close. However, opportunities maybe available throughout the year at public PR events. Details can be found on our website and social media.
Supporters will be able to view their name on the Aircraft from a photographic image which will be uploaded to YAA’s website once the Decal has been installed.
The Decal on the Aircraft will remain on for a minimum of a 12 months’ period. You will be contacted prior to the Decal being removed (this could be longer than 12 months) to ask if you would like to renew for a further 12 months. This email will include a link to enable you to purchase a name on a future panel. This would be on a new Decal and maybe on a different Aircraft.
The Decal is likely to undergo wear and tear or damage. Whilst YAA expects to replace the Decal in such circumstances, it does not guarantee any length of time that The Aircraft will remain operational. YAA has no obligation to contact Supporters in the event a Decal is removed or repaired or in the event that the Aircraft undergoes any repairs, refits or is removed from operational service for any reason.
Submitting a Name/s to the Aircraft does not mean you automatically secure tickets to any future events. For any event that we may run, tickets are subject to availability, and available on a first come and first served basis. We reserve the right to put restrictions in place, and limits to ticket availability and quantities per Supporter, at any time – and may change guidance on these restrictions at any time where necessary – to ensure the safe running of the event.
Personal details provided by completing the ‘A Year Over Yorkshire’ online form, or over the telephone by calling 01422 237900 shall be processed by YAA for the purposes of this event and renewal purposes only, in line with GDPR and stored securely. You will also be asked to consent to further future marketing from YAA purely for information and informative purposes. You can choose to opt in or opt out at any point.
