About Us

Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent, life-saving registered charity covering a vast 3 million acres and serving nearly 5 million people. It is a vital lifeline for one of England’s most diverse and expansive counties and receives no government or NHS funding; your charitable donations pay for every mission.

With a cutting-edge fleet of air ambulance helicopters and two fully equipped Rapid Response Vehicles (RRVs), we’re ready to respond in a heartbeat. Operating from our strategically located air support units at The Nostell Priory Estate near Wakefield and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk, we have the skies covered.

Clocking speeds of up to 160 mph, our aircraft can reach 90% of Yorkshire in just 20 minutes—bringing emergency medical care to those who need it most, faster than ever. From remote moorland and dales to busy town and city centres, we aim to be with patients as quickly as conditions allow.
