A Year Over Yorkshire Special

A Year Over Yorkshire: Your Name, Their Lifesaver

Thank you for being a founding A Year Over Yorkshire supporter.

Our Special Offer to You

As an exclusive thank you for supporting the campaign from the very beginning, we’d like to offer you the opportunity to reserve your place on G-YAIR with a reduced minimum donation of just £75 per name. You can choose the same name or a different one, and you’re welcome to add as many names as you like, each with a minimum donation of £75. You will be able to add additional names in the second part of the process below. You will receive a digital certificate for each name you add.

The current panel will close for submissions on 31st December 2026 or when we reach 400 names, whichever comes first. Those names will be applied to the aircraft in early 2027.

As with the previous campaigns, for each name you add, you will have one entry in to the draw to win one of 20 places at our ‘Winners Airbase Visit’. Each winner will also be able to bring a guest.

If you have any further question, please contact info@yaa.org.uk

How it works

  1. Choose the name(s) to spend A Year Over Yorkshire
Decide whose name you'd like to see on our helicopter – yours, a loved one's, or in memory of someone special. You can add up to 10 names using our simple online form. Each name requires a minimum donation of £100, but you're welcome to contribute more to further support our mission.
  2. See your name take flight
We'll notify you when the first panel of names (approximately 400) is ready to be applied to the helicopter. Your name will then travel with us on life-saving missions across Yorkshire for a whole year.
  3. Be part of every mission
Add the first name below, to secure your place on our helicopter and make your name or someone else's part of our crew. If you wish to add more names you will be able to do so during the next step.

You can dedicate a name to anyone – yourself, a loved one, a friend, or in memory of someone special.

Yes! You can add up to 10 names during the donation process. Each name is charged at a minimum donation of £100, but you can choose to donate more for each name if you wish.

We arrange names based on the order we receive them, and they are placed to best fit the decal on the aircraft. While we’ll try to keep multiple names together where possible, this can’t be guaranteed.

All names will be placed on the tail bumper of one helicopter in our fleet. Each name will appear on one panel of that helicopter and will not be replicated across our other aircraft.

We can accept:
A maximum of 30 characters per name (including spaces and punctuation).
First and second names only (e.g., John Smith).
Titles (e.g., Dr, Lady) and post-nominals (e.g., CBE, MD).
Nicknames or informal names (e.g., Freddie, Sam).
Hyphens are allowed, but other special characters and accents are not.
We cannot accept:
Joint names (e.g., The Browns or Peter and Susan Brown).
Special characters or accents, except hyphens.
Additional information like numbers or locations.
Group or company names.
Discriminatory or offensive language, or names used for political or corporate promotion.
Unidentifiable or fictional individuals.
We will place names as soon as each panel reaches capacity (approximately 400 names). If your name is part of a subsequent panel, we will keep you updated.
Each name will remain on the helicopter for one year from the date it is applied.
Of course! Every additional donation helps us continue our life-saving work.
After your donation, you’ll receive a link to our online ‘name finder.’ This tool will show you exactly where your name is positioned on the helicopter, making it easy to find and share with others.
Certificates will be provided as a downloadable file for you to print or share digitally.
Our helicopters are operational and required to save lives, but they also attend events across Yorkshire throughout the year. You can find details of these events HERE.
While you may see the aircraft at a PR visit, operational and crowd safety reasons mean you might not be able to get close enough to spot your name. The specific helicopter attending each event is decided based on operational needs and is not advertised in advance. We kindly ask that you refrain from contacting our head office or air support units to request details about the helicopter attending an event.
